But for the Bermuda community there is good news, the new Internet Communications provider (ISP) Horizon Communications - this high-speed Internet provider will be based in Bermuda and serving the Caribbean. They will use LTE wireless communications to deliver communications to users. Their services will include internet speeds up to 150 Mbps in 2018 and 300 Mbps and even faster by the end of 2018 in early 2019.

Horizon will also utilize blockchain technology in several different ways. They will have their own etiquette called the Horizon token, the symbol of HRZN. The person holding the token is entitled to a discount for service. They also plan to distribute dividends with token holders and hold a token buyback program with a portion of their profits. The targeted amount for the dividend distribution is fifteen percent, and about five percent is targeted for the repurchase program.

Customers will be able to make payments for services using the HRZN token. Employees can also be paid using tokens. These tokens are planned to be available for trading on different exchanges as well. Blockchain will also be used by Horizon to offer data storage with integrated blockchain technology. The customer portal will have access to the encrypted decentralized storage. Horizon companies also plan to offer VPN services, or virtual private networks, using a blockchain solution as well.

There are great opportunities to increase wireless network offerings in the Caribbean region and especially Bermuda . Current offers in this region can be very slow and unreliable. Most of the competition can only offer speeds of ten Mbps. Fast and reliable internet becomes very important for many people and businesses. Tourism and yachts provide additional opportunities for wireless internet providers. By 2016, more than six hundred thousand tourists visit Bermuda. Horizon plans to offer services for tourists and cruise ship ports.
